MWSS is bringing GE Appliances to RVX!

MWSS, Inc. is bringing GE appliances to RVX this year! RVX, the RV Experience, is the RV industry's first nationwide event that will help connect the dealer network with manufacturers and suppliers. It is an opportunity to introduce the newest products coming to the market right before we kick-off the spring camping season. This industry is ever-evolving and RVX is designed to keep companies, like us, up-to-speed with the latest innovations and prepare for the future of RV camping. MWSS wants to contribute our part to this exciting event, and here is how.

We are a strategic partner for GE appliances to the RV Industry and for the first time ever, we are introducing GE as an RV appliance brand. We will be unveiling a brand new RV Appliance made by GE at RVX this year, and we could not be more thrilled. We are partnering with GE to bring these appliances to RVX so that manufacturers & RV dealers can be introduced to their products for the first time. We will be at booth 1314 so be sure to stop by and check out this brand new appliance as well as the other products we have to offer.

What You Need To Know About RVX

Pre-registration for RVX ended on March 1, however you can still register onsite to attend the show. Registration is free for dealers and a list of other attendees- or $495 online for Non-Exhibiting RV Manufacturers, Park Model, Suppliers, and Warehouse Distributors. To determine if you are on the list of free attendees, click here. The event is on March 12-14, 2019 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, UT.

You may be asking yourself why you should attend RVX in the first place? And we want to assure you that this event is a great opportunity for your business to grow within the industry. As we mentioned previously, this event is the kick-off of the spring camping season. It gives you a chance to get ahead on placing orders so that your store is well-stocked before consumers begin shopping for new equipment for the year. One intangible advantage of attending RVX is the connections and relationships you make with manufacturers and suppliers within the industry. Without the chance to see them in person or view face-to-face product demonstrations, you will not be able to walk away with a toolkit of resources/knowledge on the current happenings in the industry. That is what sets apart RVX- and why you MUST make it a priority on your calendar.

" RVX will also provide multiple layers of learning about emerging consumer trends, growing consumer segments, and how through promoting new products and marketing to consumer personas, we can attract many new customers to the RV lifestyle and convert them into sales." -The RV Experience, website

Another aspect of RVX that makes this such a beneficial learning opportunity is the education program. Various seminars and sessions are hosted throughout the event to teach attendees new growth tactics to stay ahead of competitors in the industry. RVX provides a list of the top ten reasons why RV dealers should attend this event, you can check them out here.

We hope to see you out at RVX this year! Be sure to stop by our booth, 1314, and check out the new appliances- perfect for the newest RV models. We will also be giving away an Apple Watch to one lucky winner who stops by our booth and signs up for our newsletter. The winner will be randomly drawn after RVX and contacted there after.

We are thrilled to partner with GE and introduce them to the rest of the RV industry. We are certain these products will enhance the RV market. In the meantime, if you have any questions about how MWSS is involved in this year's RVX, contact us here.

How to Choose the Right RV Kitchen Appliances For You

If your new or old RV is in need of an update before prime RV camping season arrives, let us at MWSS, Inc. help you make the kitchen of your dreams a reality. A major component of a kitchen transformation is the appliances used. Outdated appliances decrease the value and aesthetic of your RV. With new, modern kitchen appliances, your RV will be in the best condition to house your family and friends for not only the upcoming spring season, but for years to come. Today we are going to share our top kitchen appliances and our tips on how to choose the right ones for your specific RV.

RV Kitchen Appliances:

Rv Refrigerator

We have devoted an entire blog to informing you on "What You Need to Know About RV Refrigerators." From fridge fans to temperature settings, knowing the specifics of your unit is necessary before making any updates or changes to your RV refrigerator. Most modern RVs carry residential fridges in them, and the ones that don't should look into upgrading soon! Some considerations to think of before purchasing a new refrigerator are: what are the dimensions of your fridge space? (weight and height are a big component here), what does your unit operate on (gas or propane, this makes a difference), and what are some of the top brands Rvers use in their vehicle. At MWSS, we carry a selection of reliable, top residential refrigerator brands that are guaranteed to fulfill your fridge needs. One of our most popular refrigerator brands is Frigidaire, and the ASCOLI 6.5 CU. FT. 2-WAY RV REFRIGERATOR is one model you don't want to overlook. This fridge features a stainless steel door and handle design. Read more about the brands we carry here.

Dishwasher

Regardless if you are a full-time RVer or just indulge on occasional camping trips in your RV, a dishwasher is a handy appliance to have in your RV. Although, it is not the most common appliance in older RV models, it is quickly becoming a popular must-have. The more guests you have stay in your RV, the more dishes you are bound to have dirty. This is why it is a smart idea to install a dishwasher for cleanliness, to save time, and to ease your on-the-road kitchen experience. Some considerations you need to take into account before installation is if you have enough gray tank capacity for additional water waste, do you have the room or cabinet space in your RV, and picking a dishwasher based on the volume of water it uses.

Washing Machine/Dryer 2-in-1

No matter the length of your camping trip, it is wise to have the proper resources available to clean your clothes, towels, etc. while on the road. Camping can get dirty- which is part of what makes it fun, but dirty clothes are not fun for anyone, can smell up a small RV space, and leave you without clean clothing if you didn't pack an adequate supply. Having a 2-in-1 washer and dryer installed in your RV can save not only space, but the hassle of overpacking.

GE Whole RV Water Filtration System

Tankless water heaters are quickly becoming an RV "norm" in the states, originally making their way in the European market. Before installing one of these heaters, you need to speak with a professional and know the specific inter workings of your RV. Some information we recommend asking the specialist you choose includes: how easy is this heater to install in my RV (time, money, etc.), does my RV run on propane- because most tanks do, and in the case that you run out of available water, is there a shut-off valve in place to use? All of these aspects require specific information that determine if a tankless water heater is the right choice for you. One of our top water heating systems is the GE WHOLE RV WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM  which is certified to reduce sediment, scale, dirt, and rust in the water, appliances, and plumbing fixtures in your RV.

Induction Cooktop

This small appliance is the perfect addition to portable cooking. Induction Cooktops provide instant heat for safe and fast food preparation. If your cooktop requires power to your RV electric rather than installation, you won't be able to use your cooktop in the case of a power outage. This is something to consider when purchasing your cooktop. Special cookware may be required to use on your induction cooktop.

Convection Oven/Microwave

We all know and love the convenience, speediness, and versatility while traveling. A convection oven can be bought with conjoining microwave, or both units can be purchased separately. This 2-in-1 product will provide the perfect cooking appliances with the least amount of space possible. A convection oven uses air circulation to speed up cooking, boiling, and baking. Make sure you know the space requirements of your oven/microwave before purchasing to ensure it will fit in your RV unit. Also, buying a product that has at least a 1-year warranty is always a smart choice as a consumer to cover you in the event that it stops working properly. One of our most popular GE 2-in-1 convection oven/microwave is the GE PROFILE AND CAFE ADVANTIUM® OVEN.

Some extra small appliances to consider adding to your must-have list before your next RV camping trip might include: a portable/handheld vacuum, air purifier, portable ice maker, dehumidifier, and coffee maker. All of these appliances are generally low-cost, high-benefit products that enhance the quality of your RV experience triple-fold. These may seem like minuscule additions, but they really add to the coziness, functionality, and making your RV feel like home while on the road.

What You Need to Know About RV Refrigerators

One of the most important aspects of RV camping is being adequately prepared with your food and drink supply. MWSS is a premier distributor of residential appliances and electronics that are ideal for both used & new RVs. We want your RV to be prepped and ready for the upcoming spring season with updated RV kitchen appliances. Keeping your appliances up-to-date prevents on-the-road mishaps and hassles along the way. For a breakdown of some common mistakes to avoid when RV camping, check out our latest blog here.  Do some early spring cleaning and get rid of those outdated appliances that just aren't working like they used to. Some of the residential refrigerator brands we carry at MWSS include: GE, Haier, Fridgidaire, and Danby. Today we will share all of the things you need to know about RV refrigerators so your food is as good as your camping experience!

1. Make sure your RV is Level Before Installing your Refrigerator

Improper installation due to uneven grounds can cause permanent damage to both. To ensure your RV is level before installation, use a carpenter's level. Rv fridges run differently than a regular fridge in your home. They are run through gas absorption and need level ground to operate efficiently. We don't recommend parking on an incline during your camping trip because it can cause permanent damage to your unit. While driving, staying level is automatically done is for you because the movements of the car mixes the coolant fluid around inside of your refrigerator.

2. Allow Proper Time for Cool-Down Before/After your RV Camping Trip

RV refrigerators do not have as much temperature control as a normal-sized fridge operating in a house or apartment. An RV refrigerator needs adequate time to cool down before it will properly function. We recommend giving your fridge at least a day to cool down before use or departing for a camping trip. Nobody wants to soil their food supply!

3. Install a Fridge Fan

To increase air circulation within your RV fridge, you can purchase a battery-operated refrigerator fan. This will improve circulation and reduce the initial cool down time by nearly 50%! You will install the batteries and place the fan facing upwards into the refrigerator. This fan will increase the overall efficiency of your fridge. This cooling fan also helps evenly distribute air throughout the fridge. A tip to enhance circulation is to not pack your fridge very full.

4. Adjust the Temperature Setting

Whenever cold or hot weather strikes, your RV's temperature settings can be affected. During the hot summer months, your RV refrigerator can take longer to cool down and you should prepare for high temperatures by setting it lower a couple days before you depart for your RV camping trip. Another tip to ensure your food and drinks are properly chilled is to pre-cool or buy products cold before your trip. If you are in extremely cold temperatures, you may need to turn the temperature up a few degrees to match the outside temperature.

If your current RV refrigerator is outdated or needs some TLC, contact our team at MWSS to see how we can update your old appliances and electronics to make your next RV camping trip the best one yet.
